U18's Jonah Lomu 7's Tournament
A global stage for talent, culture and connection
Mana Rugby is proud to participate in the inaugural Jonah Lomu Legacy International U18 Sevens Tournament with two teams — an U18 Tāne team and an U18 Wāhine team.
Held in Auckland, the home of Jonah Lomu, this special tournament will bring together emerging talent from across the rugby world. It is an opportunity for our rangatahi to honour one of rugby’s greatest names while representing their whānau, culture and kaupapa with pride.
The tournament is more than a rugby competition. It will provide international exposure, high-level rugby experiences, cultural connection and opportunities for our players to grow as athletes, leaders and young people.
For Mana Rugby, being part of the inaugural event means helping to create history from the beginning. Our tāne and wāhine will carry the mana of their whānau and Aotearoa onto a global stage, sharing their culture, building relationships and creating memories that will stay with them for life.
This experience reflects Mana Rugby’s purpose as a charitable trust and not-for-profit organisation — using rugby as a vehicle to support the development, wellbeing, education, cultural identity and future pathways of rangatahi.

Testing Talent on the
World Stage
The Jonah Lomu 7s will give our U18 tāne and U18 wāhine the opportunity to test themselves against quality opposition in a fast, demanding and competitive sevens environment.
Competing internationally will challenge our players to lift their standards, adapt to different styles of rugby and grow in confidence under pressure. They will gain valuable experience in decision-making, teamwork, discipline and leadership while learning what it means to represent their whānau and kaupapa on a wider stage.
This experience will support their development not only as rugby players, but as resilient, respectful and ambitious young people preparing for future opportunities in sport and in life.
Experiences Beyond the Field
Beyond the rugby, the Jonah Lomu 7s will create opportunities for our rangatahi to travel, connect with new people and experience the culture of Aotearoa alongside teams from around the world.
Our tāne and wāhine will build friendships, share our Māori culture and represent their whānau with pride. Through travel, teamwork and shared challenges, they will develop confidence, independence, leadership and a stronger sense of belonging.
These experiences will continue to support their hauora and personal growth long after the final whistle, helping them carry the values of Mana Rugby into their future.
